A RESTORED 18th century stone farmhouse situated just 20 minutes south of Bergerac and the airport on the borders of the Dordogne and the Lot-et-Garonne. It has four large bedrooms and comfortably sleeps eight people.
The property, on the edge of the tiny village of Ferrensac, sits at the top of a small hill in five acres with beautiful views to the south from the terrace of the salt water swimming pool. It is 3km from the bastide town of Castillonnes and 9km from Villereal.
The farmhouse is bright and spacious with over 200 square metres of habitable space on three floors. It oozes character with stone walls, original beamed celings and wood floors throughout. On the ground floor is a newly fitted kitchen of 25 sq. mtrs (5m x 5m). The focal point of the kitchen is the large, stone fireplace in the hearth of which sits a Jotul woodburner. A washing machine, tumbler dryer and dishwasher are all included in the rental. A door leads from the kitchen to the lounge of approximately 50 sq. mtr. (10m x 5m) with brand new woodburner and downstairs toilet. Both the kitchen and lounge floors were recently tiled in locally sourced, 100% organic, natural stone.
A spiral staircase leads from the lounge up to the first floor. Here, there are two enormous double bedrooms of 25 sq. mtr. (5m x 5m) at each end of the wood floor landing. Between both bedrooms is the spacious bathroom of approximately 15 sq. mtr, (5m x 3m) with bath, shower, sink and toilet.
A second wooden stairs leads to the top floor and a further two bedrooms, both of 16 sq. mtr. (4m x 4m), at each of the gable ends of the property. Also on this floor is a shower room between both bedrooms with newly installed shower, toilet and sink unit.
Electric radiators provide supplemental heating, if needed, in all rooms except the kitchen.
